Welding Wand is an energy-independent exothermic soldering-and-welding wand constituting a cylindrical rod with diameter from 4 to 16 mm and length from 70 to 200 mm.

Welding Wand is comprised of a cylindrical burning-down envelope containing a thickened technological exothermic mixture. During the process of burning, a high temperature is progressed, required solders and fluxes are released and a solder-and-weld seam is formed.

Welding Wand provides for soldering and welding of all types of iron and steel (iron-carbon alloys) of 0,3-6 mm thick, depending upon the wand diameter.

  • Period of storage  -  3 years.
  • Seam length - 30-80% from working part length.
  • Ignition temperature - 800°С.
  • Burning temperature - 1500°С.
  • Thickness of connected details: butt  -  2-6 mm, lap   0,3-4 mm.
  • Strength of butt seam:  30 - 35 kg/mm2, lap seam -  40 - 50 kg/mm2.
  • Firing time: 70 mm - 9 sec, 100 mm - 12 sec, 150 mm - 18 sec, 200 mm - 24 sec ± 15%.
  • Firing speed   5,2 mm/sec ± 15%.

Note (for those who are experienced in thermal treatment):
Seam can be strengthened up to 80 kg/mm2 (forging, hardening  + aging: heating up to 800° C, cooling  with water or oil, second heating up to 500°
С
and cooling in water or oil).
